A comforting and flavorful dish, pasta with
Checo Salami combines the hearty satisfaction of pasta with the bold, savory taste of Checo salami. It’s a simple yet delicious recipe that delivers rich flavor with every bite.
Ingredients
- ¼ Cup of Olive oil
- 2 Cups of thinly sliced Spanish onions
- 4 Tsp of minced garlic
- ½ Tsp black pepper
- 2 Tsp capers
- 2 28-oz Cans of whole peeled Italian tomatoes (San Marzano)
- 3 Tbsp grated parmesan
- 1 Cup of Checo Salami (sliced in strips)
- 2 Tbsp chopped basil
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan add oil, onion slices, a pinch of salt, and garlic after about 3 minutes of cooking time.
- Add black pepper and capers, slowly add tomatoes and with the back of a wooden spoon, crush the tomatoes. Cook for 30 minutes on low heat, add water if need be.
- Once sauce has a thick consistency, add grated cheese and whisk in the sauce
- Add strip pieces of salami and bring up temperature.
- Serve and top with more grated parmesan and chopped basil.
- For a much richer flavor and color, add 2 tbsp of heavy cream just before the sauce has fully thickened.
