Pasta with Checo Salami
A comforting and flavorful dish, pasta with Checo Salami combines the hearty satisfaction of pasta with the bold, savory taste of Checo salami. It’s a simple yet delicious recipe that delivers rich flavor with every bite.

Ingredients

  • ¼ Cup of Olive oil
  • 2 Cups of thinly sliced Spanish onions
  • 4 Tsp of minced garlic
  • ½ Tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tsp capers
  • 2 28-oz Cans of whole peeled Italian tomatoes (San Marzano)
  • 3 Tbsp grated parmesan
  • 1 Cup of Checo Salami (sliced in strips)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped basil

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan add oil, onion slices, a pinch of salt, and garlic after about 3 minutes of cooking time.
  2. Add black pepper and capers, slowly add tomatoes and with the back of a wooden spoon, crush the tomatoes. Cook for 30 minutes on low heat, add water if need be.
  3. Once sauce has a thick consistency, add grated cheese and whisk in the sauce
  4. Add strip pieces of salami and bring up temperature.
  5. Serve and top with more grated parmesan and chopped basil.
  6. For a much richer flavor and color, add 2 tbsp of heavy cream just before the sauce has fully thickened.
