El Pana Chorizo & Cheese Arepas

Delight in the rich flavors of Venezuela with El Pana Chorizo and Cheese Arepas. Warm golden arepas stuffed with savory chorizo and melty cheese for the ultimate comfort bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb El Pana chorizo, cooked and chopped
  • 2 Cups Pre-cooked cornmeal 
  • 2 ½ Cups Water
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Cup Shredded cheese (queso blanco, mozzarella, or arepa cheese)
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Cook El Pana chorizo until browned. Set aside.
  2. Mix water and salt, then slowly add cornmeal to form a soft dough.
  3. Fold cheese into the dough.
  4. Shape medium arepas.
  5. Cook on a lightly oiled skillet until golden on both sides.
  6. Slice open and fill with warm chorizo.
