Who We Are
The “Tradition of Quality” Brought to Life
Founded with a Vision
In 1969, a visionary man named Siegfried Vieluf created Cima Meat Products, a company that manufactured sausages. The company later changed its name to Cibao Meat Products, Inc, and operated out of a 1,000 square foot facility in Washington Heights. For several years the company had only 12 employees and 4 salesmen. The first product was Salami Campesino, which became very popular within the Dominican community.
A Tradition is Born
In August 1994, Cibao Meat Products relocated to a new facility in the Bronx. The new, 11,000 square foot facility was equipped with new and modern machinery, which was able to supply 3 times our products’ demands.
The joy of having taken this major step was the reason why in November of the same year we celebrated our 25th Anniversary, launching for the first time our slogan “Tradition of Quality.”
Continued Growth and Success
Our Bronx location revolutionized our production. New equipment, new technology, and new production methods made it possible to complete the entire day’s work in the morning shift. The Cibao family continued to grow, and the building that once was big enough, today no longer is.
Social Responsibility
A company with a conscience. We don’t take anything for granted. That’s why we’re committed to helping the greater good.
Not only is Cibao Meat Products dedicated to developing the finest innovative products, our business practices implore to supporting the environment. Our business practices also implore to support the environment.
Assuring a Greener Future
We believe that the key to sustainability is being less wasteful with materials and energy. We have taken significant steps to support the environment:
- – We recycle our waste materials thereby saving thousands of trees each year.
- – We have installed energy efficient lighting with motion detector switches throughout our facilities, with a savings of hundreds of thousands of kilowatt hours.
- – We are especially proud of our solar energy system that includes 1,115 solar panels on our roof and over 830 solar panels in our carport!
- – We minimize paper use by digitizing internal processes and replacing paper towel dispensers with high-efficiency hand dryers.
